042.96 RESOLUTION APPOINTING PLANNING ASSISTANT RESOLUTION NO.: 42, 96 INTRODUCED BY: Mrs. Betty Monahan WHO MOVED ITS ADOPTION SECONDED BY: Mr. Theodore Turner WHEREAS, James M. Martin, Executive Director of Community Development, advertised in the Post-Star, the Times Union, and the American Planning Association Job-Mart, the availability of a position with the Community Development Department for the Town of Queensbury, for a Planning Assistant, and WHEREAS, Mr. Martin has advised that he reviewed applications, resumes, and conducted interviews, and hereby recommends that Mr. George Hilton be appointed as Planning Assistant, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town of Queensbury hereby appoints Mr. George Hilton as Planning Assistant, on a provisional basis and subject to probationary period requirements, with his annual salary to be set at $23,500. per annum, and with employment to start January 22, 1996, and BE IT FURTHER, RESOLVED, that the Executive Director shall notify Mr. Hilton of the fact that it will be necessary to take a Civil Service Test and that the appointment is provisional until such time as a Civil Service list of qualified and tested candidates is available. Duly adopted this 3rd day of January, 1996, by the following vote: AYES : Mr. Turner, Mrs. Goedert, Mrs. Pulver, Mrs. Monahan, Mr. Champagne NOES : None ABSENT: None
