As per our conversation of May 4,2005 you informed us that the residence has two existing septic systems. One system serves two bedrooms and consists of a septic tank and leach field to the rear of the residence and the second system serves one bedroom and consists of a septic tank and a failed drywell along the side of the residence. We have reviewed the proposed replacement septic system design for the failed drywell and we agree that a standard absorption bed is acceptable. Based upon a design flow rate of 220 GPD and a percolation rate of 1 to 5 minutes, you will need 232 square feet of absorptive area. We recommend using 20 ft wide by 15 ft long absorption bed, which will provide 300 sf of absorptive area. Please call me if you have any questions. Sincerely, Thomas R.
