Re: Replacement Septic System
Bennett Steans Residence—22 Garner Street, Queensbury,NY
Dear Jai^"
- At your request we have reviewed your proposed replacement septic system design at the site of
the existing 3 bedroom house of Bennett Steans at 22 Garner Street in Queensbury. As per our
conversation of August 11, 2005 you informed us that the residence has existing failed septic
system.
We have reviewed the proposed replacement septic system design for the failed system and we
agree that a standard absorption bed is acceptable. Based upon a design flow rate of 450 GPD
and an assumed percolation rate of 1 to 5 minutes, you will need 475 square feet of absorptive
area. Based on the above information provided, we agree that a 20 ft wide by 25 ft long
absorption bed (500 sf of absorptive area) is acceptable.
Please call me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Thomas R. Center Jr., PE

Bennett Steans Residence—22 Garner Street, Queensbury,NY
Dear Dan:
At your request we have reviewed your proposed replacement septic system design at the site of
the existing 4 bedroom house of Bennett Steans at 22 Garner Street in Queensbury. As per our
conversation of August 15, 2005 you informed us that the residence has an existing failed septic
system and all fixtures have been changed to water saving fixtures.
We have reviewed the proposed replacement septic system design and we agree that a standard
absorption bed is acceptable. Based upon a design flow rate of 440 GPD and an assumed
percolation rate of 1 to 5 minutes, you will need 463 square feet of absorptive area.
Based on the above information provided, we agree that a 20 ft wide by 27.5 ft long absorption
bed (550 sf of absorptive area) with 4—25 ft long laterals with 20 ft of pipe connecting the ends
of the laterals is acceptable.
Please call me if you have any questions.
