2. . D~. Byton Howe, Jr., uueensbury School Physician and
CaI*a1n Carl Schoch of the Salvation Army appeared re-
gardihg, a project proposed for Upper Sherman Ave *1-67.
This is' aimed at providing ,in individual bc:8es,. aãequa1:e
housing for residents of this area. Mr. and _8. B1IIore
have donated 51/2 aeres for this project. PlanniD9 to b1d.14
14 or 15 houses on 75' x 150' lots with water,. gas, and
eleetric services to rent for about $75.00 per month with
landlord paying gas and electricity, so will have heat and
light. Welfare will Pay this much but if a tenna.nt pays
the rent from his earnings for several years . they will
turn over the hoU.se for closing costs. Tennants must have
beein in the town since January 1, 1967 and have children
in Queensbury School on January l, 1967. Any residents of
the' area in substandard housing renting will have the old
building torn down by the Salvage and Construction Corp., Inc.
They are. trying to get salvage materials from the Ridge Street
Urbatl Renewal project for this. Elmores will give 4 to 6
more lots for recreation use when this is, fairly well along.
Plann1ng individual septie tanks and dry wells for sewage
system. Demboski and Cushing will visit the site and are
authorized to give preliminary approval if they see fit.

Each year each compa.ny has a 2 or 3 day examinatim'l by
the Fire Rating Board. Plan a new fire house so no part
of the district 'W'ill be over 5 miles of any p(:änt in the
district, within 3 miles of any institut.ion (:::chool,
Warren County Building, Infirmary», and 3/4 rnile of high
hazard concentration (manufacturing of filling station).
Plan to acquire a ladder truck and a new pumpf~r wit.h
snorkel. Expect to spend $122.000.00. Only difference
between Volunteer Company and paid is in initial response.
Locase fire house near homes and work of firemen.

Plan to add pumper, install another siren, finish fire
house addition, and replace ambulance, spend about $50,000.
Have men on ntght duty at fire house. Western Park Shanty

replace equipment as needed..
(d) Barrett - Bay-Ridge
Plan addition to build.ing ð.nd ne~~ truck. Havf: 6 phones
in homes for lnitial response..
(e) Baker - South Queensbury
Plan either addition to or new larger fire house. ß~ve
low population density but high risk ar~as (Hf~rcules" Airp<1,rt)..
(f) Queensbury has more men (250), equipment and ambulances
than any upstate town.
All companies feel that. ho need to change boundries as all
companies cooperate and are responsible for whole town.

Have purchased tru,::ks, build fire house.. Yearly maintenance
includes heat. power, supplies, uniforms, repairs. telephone,
boOks, gas and oil, etc.. Cost $4,092.00 per year.. Feels
$5,000.. 00 per year per company and $1,000.. 00 f'.()r ambulance
is not enough, need more town mQney.. This is only 98¢ per
