Dear Mr. Cavayero:
This letter will serve to document our telephone conversations of August 25 &26, 2004
regarding the above referenced project.
As discussed, we inspected your project site and discovered that the boathouse,
currently under construction, is not consistent with the approved plans for the project.
You have offered to revise the construction of the boathouse in order to bring the
structure into compliance. We both agreed that this would be an acceptable
remedial method and that no additional building permit would be required, as the
permit that has already been issued will cover the work. Our calculations show that the
boathouse, to the top of the railing posts, has been constructed 1.65 feet taller than the
approved 14 foot 8 '/2.inch overall height. Therefore, the boathouse must be reduced
by this amount in order to.be compliant with the approvals issued. Additionally, the
length and width dimensions of the existing structure (both boathouse and sundeck) do
not match the plans that are part of the originally issued building permit. These matters
must be addressed as well.
As you are aware, the construction of this boathouse required both an Area Variance
approval as well as a Site Plan Review approval. The plans submitted were explicit and
any deviation from these plans will likely require further review and approval. Should
