The bottom of the new system will be approximately 24" below existing grade. The existing soils have an average stabilized percolation rate of 22.1 minutes and will not require any modification. • A review of the system plans by Environmental Design Partnership, dated December 11, 2006, revision December 29, 2006 is consistent with the information listed above as well as the requirements of both the Town of Queensbury and appendix 75-A of the New York State Health Department regulations. The absorption field area has been relocated to an area up gradient of the house site thus now requiring a pump system. Attached for your file for this project are two sets of the design plan drawings reflecting the proposed revisions to the system. Based on our April discussion we conducted soils testing after May 1 Sc and made direct observations of the seasonal high groundwater level. As noted under the basis of design (Sheet 2) there was no groundwater observed in the area of the proposed absorption field. Perc tests resulted in a design rate of 17 min./inch. Thank you for your assistance with this revision to the approved plan issued in January 2007. This structure is an approximate 1100 sf, 1'/2 story building that is located at the intersection of Lockhart Mountain Rd. and Top of the World Rd., at the entry to the project. Three sets of a preliminary site plan are provided for your use and distribution. In accordance with APA Permit No. 86-332-2, dated June 15, 1987, under Findings of Fact -Item 12(i), the Gate House is "..... to be renovated and used for residential use ....". As it is suspected that the septic system that served this residence is no longer functional it is proposed that along with the structural renovations that a new onsite wastewater system be installed for the Gate House. It is the owner's hope to secure the building permit so that building renovations can be completed during the winter months. With that desired schedule it will be necessary to conduct an `out of season' soils analysis. It is my understanding that your office will coordinate our request with the Town's new representative regarding the onsite soils investigation.
