Requesting relief from SECTION: 179-5-020
Need relief from the requirement(s) listed below which cannot be met by the project as proposed.
[Check all that apply] • Setback • Buffer Zone • Lot Width [X] Other Second ¢arage as accessory structure, and
total SF of earaee ereater than 1,100 SF.
The following questions reflect the criteria for granting this type of variance. Please complete them; use additional sheets if
needed.
L Whether an undesirable change will be produced in the character of the neighborhood or a detriment to
nearby property will be created by the granting of this area variance?
No,the Applicant has a large(4.7 acres) lot and the new garage will be surrounded by trees, therefore hardly noticeable to
the neighbors
2. Whether the benefit sought by the applicant can be achieved by some method, feasible for the applicant
to pursue, other than an area variance?
No,addition to the existing garage or house is not possible because of grades and would be more noticeable.
3. Whether the requested area variance is substantial?
No,the additional area of the garage as compared to this Town's standard of 0.22 per area is well within this requirement,
as is the percent permeable(94%).
4. Whether the proposed variance will have an adverse effect or impact on the physical or environmental
conditions in the neighborhood or district?
No, the Applicant has a large(4.7 acres) lot and the new garage will be surrounded by trees, therefore hardly noticeable to
the neighbors
5. Whether the alleged difficulty was self-created?
Yes,because of the Applicant's desire to have a nice garage to store his classic and antique cars and boats so that they are
not outside exposed to the elements.
