Common Wall Shared With Garage 1. Type X fire-rated 1/2"sheetrock will be applied to the inside of the addition common wall which is shared with the garage. 2. Type X fire-rated 5/8" sheetrock will be applied to the inside of the garage common wall which is shared with the addition. This sheetrock will extend past the ceiling plate and through the rafters/trusses to the bottom of the roof deck. Outside Deck 1. The small deck outside the addition exterior door will measure 5'x 10'. It will be built with 2x6" pressure treated framing 16" on center. The deck surface will be 5/4"x 6" pressure treated lumber. The deck will be supported by 2 concrete sonotube piers, in addition to a ledger board and joist hangers where the deck is attached to the addition. 2.
