SIGN G - NEW PROPOSED FREE-STANDING OVER SIZED SIGN - Motion by Mann
seconded by Dybas to disapprove this sign. ~otion carried. The Board
would have approved a conforming sign at this point as shown on the map.
The Board considered the 454 ft. frontage and the fact that they must
also consider two corporations on this land, and they should be allowed
two free standing signs.
SIGNS H I J - H. JEEP 4'x5' WALL SIGN
I. CARSWELL'S 6'9"x3' WALL SIGN
J. GMC 4'x5~' WALL SIGN
The sq. ft. of the 3 would be 64.25 sq. ft. instead of one 100 sq. ft.
sign which would conform. The Board feels 3 signs are not out of place
because of large frontage of property. The signs must conform as of
August 1986. Motion by Mann seconded by Montesi to approve signs H I and
J. Motion carried to recommend approval.
Variance #536. V-Haul Co. of Northeastern N. Y. Inc. - to place a
commercial enterprise in a preexisting nonconforming building in an
R-4 Zone on the property situated at Main Street (Corinth Road) at
Exit 18 Northway. Jack Oot, President U-Haul Co. of Northeastern, N.Y.
Inc. and Richard Bendall. Attorney were present on this variance.
Motion by Sorlin seconded by Montesi to recommend approval. Motion
carried. The Board recommend granting this variance as the building
is there and it can not be made into a residence. The Board felt that
this would recycle the building to a better use than it is presently.
Variance #537. George and Rita Dunphv - to operate a consignment shop
in a detached garage in an R-~ Zone with a free-standing sign and a sign
on face of garage on the property situated .at Luzerne Road. Motion by
Montesi seconded by Dybas to recommend granting this variance for the
lifetime use of George and Rita Dunphy. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
The Board felt that this was a hardship case and they would like to help
this family.
Variance #538. Barrv C. and Roberta Converse - to place a mobile home
court in an R-3 Zone on the property stiuated Off Warren Lane. This
56 lot Mobile Home Court application presented by Michael O'Connor,
Attorney for applicant. Motion by Sorlin to recommend the granting of
this variance as there are preœestablished mobile homes in the area already,
,and with stipulation that owner incorporate into his rules and regulations
