.. Schoo~house ad. Mr. Rôder1ck, Manager of Sheraton Inn present as
well as Robert Platt from Signs of Progress. The Board approved this
sign by motion of Sor1in, seconded by Mann and carried unanimously..
Approval based on the following:
Hardship in finding Sheraton Inn.
When New York State Department of Transportation
lOgo sign program becamesavaIlable and Sheraton .
applies, and is granted a sign under the 109'00 sign
program, that. t.his off-premises sign will come down
within thirty (30) days. .
Applicant still needs State Department of Transportation approval after
Queensbury Planning Board grant approval. State would like to have ..
Town's opinion before making their decision.. 'l'he League of Women Voters
went on record as being opposed to this sign.
Variance f625, John M. DeLisle - to place an addition to a dwelling with
less than the required front setback on the property situated at 12
Phillips Avenue. Tax Map No. 111-1-19. John DeLisle present on this
variance G Motion by Krebs seconded by Sorlin to recommend di¡:i~pprova1.
Motion carried by vot.e 5 yes, 1 no. From Planninq Board point of view
it does not make sense to «¡rant a permit to build 6 inches from t.he road.
The Town made an error in «¡ranting this building permit. The Building
Inspector granted the permit and applicant then· built building and now
building is up and it appears that fault is Town's error.

Motion by Krebs, seconded by Threw to recommend approval. Motion carried
by vot.e of 5 yes, 1 no. The Billboard is down and building sign will
stay at 1500 sq. ft. until 1986, at which time it. will be reduced
to 300 sq. ft.

Variance 1627, Glen Ford, Inc. - to place non-conforming signs in
C-3Zone on the property situated at north side Quaker Road. Joseph
Romeo from Glen Ford and his attorney, Robert Stewart, were present.
Motion by Krebs, seconded by Montesi to recommend approval subject to
following:
1. Signs 3, 4,5, 9, 10, 11, 12 be placed flush to building
using existing signs.
2. Signs 2 and 8 are acceptable.
3. Free-Standing Signs 1, 7 and 6. Two free-standing signs
allowed, but· if sign 7 were cut to 25 ft. in height Board
would recommend accepting 3 free-standing signs.
Motion carried by unanimous vote.
Variance 1628, Robert and Lois Leomhruno - to enlarge a non-conforming
use in R-l Zone on the property situated at Assembly Point Road. Robert
Leombruno present. Motion by Krebs seconded by Montesi to recommend
approval. Motion carried unanimously. This is a large piece of property,
366 ft. deep and the land slopes away from the land ånd there will be no
impact on the lake.

by Mann to reco~end approval of this Special Permit as it is reasonable
use of land. Motion carried unanimously. Gerald and Roger Hewlett
were present on this Special Permit.
variance i629,Glens Falls Electric SUPï1Y - to place an addition to a
commercial bul1dînq with less than requ red 50 ft. front setback on the
property situated at Country Club and Ouaker· Roads. John Bishop from
Waggaman and Collyer present on this variance. Motion by Montesi
seconded by Mann to recommend approval. Motion carried by vote of 5 yes,
1 no. The Board· recommend approval for. the following reasons:
Only l~ft. setback needed to meet 50 ft. reçuirement.
40 ft. addition would not aft'ectroad wideninq of Quaker
Road -this is based on Depar~ent of Transportation and
County Highway Department.
