Material Specifications for New Deck
All.lumber to be premium grade pressure treated (PT) pine.
Remove existing deck and support posts — Save existing stairs.
New deck to be supported by 4 — 6 x 6" PT posts, 8' on centers, out 12'
from the house, set on 10" concrete sono tubes 48" below grade, with a
triple-2" x 12" beam at bottom of deck joints, bolted through each 6" x.6"
post.
Deck joists to be 2" x " PT, 16" on center:
Decking to be 5/4.PT decking, nailed todeck joists and laid at a 45 degree
angle.
New deck to have a PT 2" x 10" box beam, bolted and flashed to existing
house.
New deck to have a complete rail system, 36" hiyk at pergineter of dec�
