RE: Gazetos Septic System—Hickory Hollow Road
Gentlemen:
This letter is to inform you that I inspected the completed septic system for the Gazetos residence
on Hickory Hollow Lane on April 25, 2005.
The septic system as installed was for a three bedroom house and consisted of a 1,000 gallon
septic tank, pump station and 275 lineal feet of absorption trench constructed with stone and
perforated pipe. The system conforms to the approved design drawings.
Please call me if you have any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Thomas R. Center, PE

Re: Gazetos House, Queensbury, NY
Dear Mr. McAvinney:
At your request, i have reviewed the framing plans for the house you are constructing for Peter
and Susan Gazetos, specifically (and only) as they pertain to two beams in the second floor
framing above the living room and foyer. These beams are identified as P2 and M2 on the
second floor framing plan prepared by Curtis Lumber Co., Inc. This plan correctly identifies the
fact that there is insufficient bearing area where M2 .is supported on top of P2. The plan shows
that there is 11 11/16" of bearing length required and P2 only provides 5 1/2" of bearing length.
In order to address this problem I am recommending that you replace P2 with a steel beam and
place a piece of steel channel on top of this beam to provide the required, bearing length under
- , M2. Based upon my calculations, the steel beam should be a W 12 x 30, a W 14 x 30 or a W 16 x
31. The channel should be a C7 x 12.25. The attached sketch shows the proposed configuration
and details.
Please let me know if you have any questions or if I may be of further assistance in this matter.
Sic -ely,
Thomas W. Nace, P.E. ,

technology and extensive testing, the doors will not bow, warp, crack, scratch,
"r splinter, dent or rust as with wood or steel doors.More on the features and
