Minutes of the September 7, 2004 regular meeting held at the Town of Queensbury
Office Complex Conference Room.
Chairman Doug Irish called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Present: Commissioners Etu, Fusco, Goedert, Irish, LaBombard, Maine, Mott
Staff Present: Director Hansen, Assistant Director Lovering
Others Present: Mr. and Mrs. Gerry Lemmo, Jim Miller
Approval of the Minutes:
Motion made by Commissioner Goedert, seconded by Chairman Irish to approve the
minutes from the August 3rd meeting. All members present approved. Since a quorum
was not present (Commissioner LaBombard excused himself to attend the Town/School
meeting) at the August 3rd meeting the minutes were not considered official.
Communications and Remarks from Visitors: (see fIle for copies)
· Mr. and Mrs. Gerry Lemmo were present. Mr. Lemmo is a
photographer/naturalist. He presented the Commission with a photo/text display
of wildlife found at Hovey Pond. It was beautifully displayed on durable
hardboard with UV protection. It will be displayed in the Gazebo at Hovey Pond.
The Commission thanked Mr. Lemmo for this generous and beautiful donation.

· Budget Control Report as of August 17th distributed.
Unfmished Business
· Hovey Pond Master Plan Update-Jim Miller presented an overview of the existing
conditions and recommendations for improvement of Hovey Pond. Each area was
explained in detail. It was noted this is a work in progress with much being able
to be completed locally. It was recommended the "Friends of Hovey Pond" be
invited to comment on this master plan at the meeting on September 21, at 7:00
p.m.
· Community Center Status Report-Chairman Irish reviewed progress thus far. We
are waiting for soil testing report ftom Dente Engineering. November referendum
is not going to happen. Much discussion on the three possible properties with
Valente property having high consideration. Glenn property and TatkolLimbert
property still in consideration.
. Park Project Status (see report dated 0901104)
. From last months meeting: Motion made by Commissioner Goedert, seconded by
Commissioner Fusco to approve and authorize the American Legion to proceed
with the planning of a Veteran's MemoriallMonument at Hovey Pond. All
members present voted affirmative.
· Commissioner Goedert asked if we received a bill on placing of rock at Hovey?
No. Do we have an agreement of understanding with Friends of Hovey? Not yet.
One will be prepared and sent to them for comment.
New Business
· Chairman Irish reported on the Town's desire for our thoughts and concerns
regarding a Commercial Recreation/Open Space fee. Discussion will take place
at our next meeting. Director Hansen will prepare history of this topic and
documentation along with recommendations.
Committee Reports:
· Budget-Commissioner Fusco reported he and Commissioner Goedert met with staff
the review the 2005 budget. Summary is enclosed. Administrative salaries are not
included since the schedule will be determined by the Town Board.
