Service&Power Distribution of Power and Data
Building Electrical Service: 208V,3phase,4w for Non-Residential and 240/120V, 1-phase for residential units.
Electrical Contractor to confirm.
Power Requirements:
Electrical contractor to verify the capacity of existing electrical service or panelboard prior to adding new load.
Avoid overloading existing panelboard.Provide new panelboard as required.
• All branch wiring shall be insulated copper conductors in conduit.
• Conduit shall be run overhead inside ceiling space. Conduits serving floor outlet items may be run under
slab.
• Feeder and branch circuit conductors shall be adequately sized to accommodate voltage drop due to
excessive lengths.
• Provide 208V or 120V circuit as required by this project.
• Provide dedicated circuit required for specialized equipment. Coordinate requirements with equipment
supplier prior to rough-in.
• Grounding type receptacle outlets shall be provided for general use.Receptacle outlets located outside and,in the
kitchen,on counters(within 6 ft of sink)and bathrooms shall be GFCI type.Weatherproof cover shall be provided
for exterior outlets.
• Provide new distribution and branch circuit panelboards to serve new loads as required.Panelboard bus shall be
copper.Panelboards shall be of sufficient ampacity to serve the designed loads plus a minimum of 20%additional
ampacity to provide for future growth.
• Provide Arc Flash Warning Labelling on all panelboards. Prepare arc flash study/analysis. Provide
appropriate label per NFPA 70E recommendation. Label will not include PPE requirements or arc flash
potential.
