Minutes of the July 10, 2007 regular meeting held at the Town of Queensbury Staff
Lunch Room.
Chairman Jack LaBombard called the meeting to order at 7:05 pm
Present: Commissioners Fusco, LaBombard, Maine, Mott
Excused: Commissioners Conboy, Irish, Smith
Staff Present: Director Lovering
Approval of Minutes: It was moved by Commissioner Mott, seconded by
Commissioner Maine to approve the minutes of the June 5, 2007 meeting. All members
present approved.
Communications and Remarks from Visitors: (see file for copies)
• Letter from Queensbury Central Fire Company requesting a letter from
Recreation Commission acknowledging our use of their property adjacent to
Hovey Pond Park
• Post Star letter to the editor regarding the 6 pm admission to Gurney Lane Pool
• Letters from Rick Norton family regarding appreciation of volunteer during the
JDRF softball tourney
• Memo regarding the electrical and plumbing bid award recommendations to
Town Board
• Thank You letter from Director Lovering and Summer Youth Program
Coordinator Baertschi to Burnham family for donation of craft supplies
• Copy of Aquatic Supervisor ad appearing in several employment opportunity
publications
• Budget report as of 07/09/07

Unfinished Business
Ridge/Jenkinsville update by Director Lovering—construction meeting held this week
with a good cooperative display among sub-contractors and prime contractors. Price for
the additional work requested from General Contractor as follows: additional soccer/all
purpose field-$96,400 (includes irrigation system), landscaping-$18,000, finish coat
paving-$17,000 for a total of$131,400. A motion was made by Commissioner Mott,
seconded by Commissioner Maine to request the additional funding from the Town
Board with the notation that the total costs of the project is still within the original
allocation. All members present approved. Director Lovering announced construction
meetings will be on Tuesdays at 9:00 am. There was some discussion on a possible need
for more security lights at the project site.
New Business
• Director Lovering will begin the process of screening and interviewing applicants
for the Aquatic Supervisor position within the next month with the intent of hiring
someone by the end of summer.

Monthly Parks & Program Report
• Summer programs are in full swing
• Receipts for month of June exceed $55,000 and is increasing
• Gurney Pool repairs have "kinks" ironed out and seems to be working much
better
• Q-club "store" is a new element providing some needed supplies to youngsters.
• Commission will need to consider possibility of another grounds/maintenance
person when Ridge/Jenkinsville opens. It will need to be budgeted for soon.
Adjournment:
A motion made by Commissioner Maine, seconded by Commissioner Mott to adjourn the
meeting at 8:10 pm all members present approved.
