Minutes of the November 6, 2007 regular meeting held at the Town of
Queensbury Office Building, Supervisor's Conference Room
Chairman LaBombard called the meeting to order at 7: 05pm
Roll Call:
• Present— Fusco, LaBombard, Maine, Mott

• Staff—Director Lovering, Program Specialist Lori O'Shaughnessy,
Program Assistant Jen Baertschi, Aquatics Supervisor Deirdre

• Guests--None
Approval of Minutes:
It was moved by Commissioner Maine, seconded by Commissioner Mott to
approve the minutes from the September 4, 2007 meeting and, due to a lack
of quorum, the notes of the October 2, 2007 meeting. All members present
approved.
Communications and Remarks from Visitors: (see file for copies)
Monthly Correspondence
• Resolution authorizing application for funds from New York State
Division for Youth
• Budget Control Report dated 10/31/07 distributed and briefly
discussed questions regarding fund balance and budgeted funds
available for remainder of year. Overall budgeted amounts look good
Unfinished Business
• Ridge/Jenkinsville Park Update
• Overview by Director Lovering on condition of grass. Coming
along real good, all parties are pleased. Punch list developed by
Jim Miller (see file).
• Contractor still working on interior of building. Sprinkler
system will be winterized.
• 2008 Revised Budget Review--Budget approved by Town Board as
reflected in documentation distributed by Director Lovering. To wit
total 2008 budget for $854,746. This is a $71,444 difference from
budget requested by Department.
West End Park Project—Discussion
• Master Plan submitted by Jim Miller with costs associated with the
plan. Director Lovering reviewed the drawing of Master Plan and
various amenities associated with the design.
• Discussion regarding National Grid property adjacent to this park and
whether or not we should encroach on their property with a play area
as is currently the case. This issue needs to be resolved before we
proceed.
• We will still move forward with the overall plan to develop this park.
The Town will need to approve the funding sources currently in other
accounts.
New Business
• Chairman LaBombard complimented Lori and staff on a job well
down with the winter, spring 2008 program guide. It is a professional
looking guide.
• Gurney Lane Pond project results reviewed with photos. Highway
Department did a fine job and were instrumental in completing this
project.
• Meeting with YMCA officials report –Chairman LaBombard reported
a spirit of cooperation exists at the present time with regard to
swimming pool/gymnasium project. All agree another indoor pool is
necessary for the community.

Monthly Parks and Program Report by Director Lovering
Aquatic Supervisor Brennan reviewed the Swim program limitations due to
lack of pool time at the school pool. We lost a lot of people who would
normally be in program due to time constraints.
Fall fun festival was a huge success with excellent participation from the
community reported Jen Baertschi. Lori reported winter programs are
beginning with traditional programs mixed with some new ideas.
Executive Session-a motion was made by Commissioner Mott seconded by
Commissioner Maine to enter into executive session at 8:35 pm to discuss
salaries of personnel. All members present approved. Out of executive
session at 8:53pm on motion by Commissioner Maine and seconded by
Commissioner Mott. All members present approved.
Adjournment
A motion by Commissioner Mott, seconded by Commissioner Maine to
adjourn at 8:55 pm. All members present approved.
