Minutes of the August 7, 2007 regular meeting held at the Town of Queensbury
Supervisor's Conference Room.
Commissioner Fusco, acting as chair, called the meeting to order at 7:05 pm
Present: Commissioners Fusco, Irish, Maine, and Smith
Excused: Commissioners Conboy, LaBombard, and Mott
Staff Present: Director Lovering
Guests: Mr. and Mrs. Richard Bennett
Approval of Minutes: It was moved by Commissioner Maine, seconded by
Commissioner Fusco to approve the minutes of the July 10, 2007 meeting. All members
present approved.
Communications and Remarks from Visitors: (see file for copies)
• E-mails between Susan Combs, Supervisor Stec and Director Lovering
concerning a Dog Park in the Town of Queensbury
• Monthly/Year to Date Budget Report as of July 31, 2007/Commissioner Irish
asked about the vehicle maintenance line item along with the line items for
facilities repair and lease cost.
• Employee Roster as of August 1, 2007 distributed
• Concerns over traffic increases in the vicinity of Ridge/Jenkinsville Park
expressed by Mr. and Mrs. Bennett. A lengthy discussion took place with the
Bennett's regarding the new construction and its impact on the area.
Unfinished Business
Ridge/Jenkinsville update by Director Lovering—construction is moving along and
appears to be ahead of schedule. Fourth field approved by the Town Board with
concerns over traffic issues. Jim Miller is preparing site reports which will be mailed
soon.
New Business
• South Queensbury Park—discussion on the concerns of Councilman Sanford on
the need for seal coating and striping of the parking lot of the firehouse next to the
Park. Director Lovering offered to help with soliciting bids for this work with
money coming from the Town Board and not the Recreation Commission. This
was the position of the Commission members present.
• 2008 Budget Development Schedule distributed with dates and submission
deadlines. November 5, 2007 is the Budget Adoption date by the Town Board.

• School Liaison-no report
• Personnel-Motion to enter executive session to discuss personnel by made by
Commission Irish, seconded by Commissioner Smith at 7:47 pm. All members
present approved. Out of executive session at 8:00 pm. Commissioner Irish
reported the personnel committee interviewed the finalist for the position of
Aquatic's Supervisor. Seven candidates were interviewed before the finalist was
presented to the personnel committee. The seven were narrowed down to three
with the finalist coming from these three. A motion was made by
Commissioner Irish, seconded by Commissioner Maine to recommend to the
Town Board a six month probationary appointment to the position of
Aquatic Supervisor to be offered to Deidre Brennen, current address
Smallwood, NY 12778. All members present approved.

Monthly Parks & Program Report
• Summer programs are in full swing
• Gurney Lane participation and revenues better than last year.

A motion made by Commissioner Maine, seconded by Commissioner Irish to adjourn the
meeting at 8:05 pm all members present approved.
