Minutes of the September 1, 2009 regular meeting of the Queensbury Parks and
Recreation Commission held at the Town of Queensbury Supervisor's Conference
Room
Chairman Irish called the meeting to order at 7: 04pm
Roll Call:

Approval of Minutes:
It was moved by Commissioner Maine, seconded by Commissioner Conboy, to
approve the minutes from the June 2, 2009 meeting. All members present
approved.
Communications and Remarks from Visitors: (see file for copies)
• Monthly Correspondence
• Memo from Director Lovering to Supervisor Stec regarding
replacement vehicle for 2010 budget—question and answer period
followed as to justification in replacing a vehicle with low mileage as
opposed to paying mileage. Even with low mileage the vehicle has
mechanical and frame problems.
• Letter to Warren County Probation Officer regarding paperwork of
teen involved in vandalism of West End Park
• Copy of Resolution authorizing engagement of the Dock Doctors for
construction of new permanent pile dock system at Glen Lake Boat
Launch at a cost not to exceed $19,400. Dry hydrant has been
installed. Three weeks for dock to be built.
• Thank you letter from Mc Henry family in appreciation of West End
Park dedication events.
• Budget Control Report as of 08/24/2009 distributed
• No change in employee roster report from last meeting
Unfinished Business
• Glen Lake Boat Launch site upgrades
• West End Park Vandalism
• Queensbury Rowing Club—update.
New Business
• 2010 Budget Requests document distributed. Discussion on proposed cuts
and areas where cuts can be made, as well as should further cuts be made?
General consensus was that we should not make further cuts since our
requested budget is almost $1000 less than the previous budget. However
the following motion was made.
• A Motion made by Commissioner Conboy to authorize Director Lovering to
revise the 2010 budget requests by making further cuts not exceed $5000. If
further cuts are requested by the Town Supervisor, Director Lovering shall
report back to the Commission before taking further action. Seconded by
Commissioner Mott. All members present approved.
