During the December 2, 2008 meeting a resolution was passed by the
Commission to move forward with ending the Town's property lease with the
South Queensbury Fire Company.
• E-mail communication from Ron Montesi informing him of the Resolution.
He is in agreement.
• Letter to Scott Nussbaum, President of the West Glens Falls Fire Company
asking permission to create an ice-skating rink in the field area located in the
northeast portion of their property with access off Veterans Road.
• Budget Control Report as of 12/29/08. Discussion— Gurney Lane repairs have been
factored in.
• 2008 Committees discussion. Two open seats: By-Laws Committee and School
Liason Committee.
• Employee Roster. A current employee roster was requested by Chairman LaBombard
at our last meeting and reviewed by committee.
Unfinished Business
• Gurney Lane. Initial repair work was performed by Aquatic Commercial Solutions
and it was determined the gutter converter box, initially thought to by the source of
leakage is NOT the problem. Next idea is that the pool is probably losing water in the
gutter system where the gutter meets the pool wall. These repairs will need to be
done in the spring of`09 since the pool will need to be filled and water circulating to
test the repair work.
o Suggestion by Director Lovering to delay opening Gurney Lane 2 weekends
after Memorial Day to have 4 weeks to make repairs before opening for the
season. The present budget will allow for these repairs, but we will need to
budget more money for future repairs.
o Concerns regarding the safety of the concrete pool deck and the pool itself
were discussed.
• Property Lease. Further discussion on how to proceed with notification of Town
Board and South Queensbury Fire Company.
New Business
• Discussion: Recommendations for 2009 Park Project. No major park expansion or
renovations in 2009. The Commission is in agreement with this recommendation.
