Minutes of the May 4, 2009 regular meeting of the Queensbury Recreation
Commission held at the Town of Queensbury Supervisor's Conference Room
Chairman LaBombard called the meeting to order at 7: 05pm
Roll Call:
• Present—Fusco, LaBombard, Mott, White
• Excused— Conboy, Irish, Maine,
• Staff—Director Lovering,

Approval of Minutes:
It was moved by Commissioner Mott, seconded by Commissioner White, to
approve the minutes from the March 2, 2010 meeting with the following changes:
Commissioner LaBombard was present at the meeting, and Fusco as Secretary not
treasurer. All members present approved.
Communications and Remarks from Visitors: (see file for copies)
• Monthly Correspondence
• Letter to Superintendent of Schools Huntley regarding summer
programs and use of school facilities. Commission members noted
the excellent relationship between the department and the school.
• Letter to John Bowe, Nature Resource educator regarding GPS and
GPS cache at Gurney Lane
• Resolution authorizing transfer of recreation development rights to
Adirondack Community College
• E-mail to Eric Catalano regarding approval for park permit at Hudson
River Park for rowing club
• Newspaper article regarding Plans for Gurney Lane Park
• Communications between resident and Director regarding Hovey Park
improvements
• Information flyer regarding Soccer tournament at Ridge/Jenkinsville
Park
• Flyer information regarding Karate Club after school program
• Press release from Queensbury Rowing
• Letter from Town Counsel to Lawrence family regarding transfer of
property on Ridge Road.
• Report from Director Lovering on cooperative program with school

• Budget Control Report reviewed as 04/01/2010

• 2010 Committee List reviewed
Unfinished Business
• 2010 Park Projects-update on Town Board Workshop (see file for further
info) meeting by Director Lovering—approval of all projects with exception
of Jenkinsville Maintenance Building. This item was tabled for more
information and discussion
New Business
• Summer programs and Brochure reviewed. Many new programs. Staff to
be commended for doing a fine iob in developing these programs.
• 2010 salary and wage schedule (seasonal and part time) reviewed by
Director Lovering with the rationale for the four job classifications and the
corresponding rates of pay. Motion by Commissioner Mott, seconded by
Commissioner LaBombard to approve the schedule as presented. All
members present approved.
• Bicycle Committee—report by Commissioner LaBombard and
Commissioner Mott on work/progress/needs of committee.

Adjournment—A Motion was made by Commissioner White Seconded by
