MINU'lES OF MEETING
APRIL 25, 1983
Minutes of the regular tœeting of the Recreation Corrmission of the
Town of Queensbury, held funday, April 25, 1983 at the Queensbury Town
Office Building, Queensbury, New York. Director Hansen, acting as tempo-
rary Chairman, called the tœeting to order at 7:30 p.m.

APPROVAL OF MrNUTES
Corrmissioner Bly IIDved to approve the minutes of the March 28, 1983
tœeting. Corrmissioner Teti seconded the IIDtion which was UI1BI1iIwusly ap-
proved.
ElECTION OF OFFICERS
The Director temporarily assuned Chairmanship of the tœeting and re-
quested naninations for the position of .Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the
Recreation Corrmission for the one year period, April 1983 through March
1984. Conmissioner Granger ncmi.nated Conmissioner Charrpagne but Conmis-
sioner Charrpagne declined the nomination. Conmissioner Bly ncmi.nated
Conmissioner Little as Chairman and it was seconded by Conmissioner
Charrpagne. The nominations were then closed and Conmissioner Little
was UI1BI1iIwusly elected.
Corrmissioner Granger was nominated by Corrmissioner Charrpagne and
seconded by Corrmissioner Bly for the position of Vice-Chairman and after
naninations were closed, was subsequently elected manim::>usly

The Director read the letter frcm the Queensbury Figure Skating Club
thanking the Recreation Depart:Iœnt for the use of the guard chair in their
annual ice show at the Glens Falls Civic Center.
DIRECTOR'S REPORT
The enclosed Director's report was reviewed and there was saœ discussion
on preparations for sumœr programs. The softball league program was discussed
and there was some ccmænt on the fee schedule.
The mmthly budget update was reviewed and there were no questions.
The Director also showed off the new Depart:rœnt truck, which had arrived
and been in use for about two weeks.
Ccmn:i.ssioner Teti asked if anything had progressed on the Hovey Pond
project and the Director requested an executive session to discuss this and
the West Glens Falls Neighborhood Park.
'Ihe Ccmnission rebm1ed to open session and there being no further
business, the tœeting was adjourned at 9:15 p.m. The next tœeting will be
held on funday, May 23, 1983.
