RE: Monthly meeting for May
Due to an unexpected conflict (my daughter's confirmation
on Monday evening) I will be unable to be present at the regu-
larly scheduled Recreation Commission meeting on Monday May 24th.
After discussing this with Chairman Yasko it was suggested
that either the meeting be cancelled altogether or, if necessary
that a special meeting be scheduled early in June as a combined
May/June meeting. Personally I could use the extra time to con-
tinue the preparation for all summer programs and woùld vote to
cancel the meeting. However, if the Commission feels a special
combined meeting is necessary I will so schedule it. Please
contact me if you feel a special meeting is necessary. If the
majority feel otherwise our next meeting will be the regularly
scheduled meeting on Monday June 28, 1982.
Regarding preparations for summer programs, the pool at
Gurney Lane is behind schedule and may not open for the Memorial
Day weekend. Sand blasting the pool in preparation for the new
"non-slip" surface is going slowly and there may not be enough
time to put down the new surface on those areas not done last
year, and fill the pool before next week. The park will of course
be open even if the pool is not ready. However, no final decision
will be made until the last moment.
The Master Plan is complete and is being duplicated and should
be given to the Board this week
All other program preparations are on schedule and the summer
program brochure will be available for distribution to the community
on or about June 3rd.
If you have any questions or comments do not hesitate to con-
tact me.
