APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Commissioner Bly moved to approve the minutes of the February
22, 1982 meeting. Commissioner Roop seconded the motion which was
unanimously approved.
COMMUNICATIONS/CORRESPONDENCE
The Director briefly reviewed the two articles of corres-
pondance which were enclosed in the monthly packet; the thank
you letter from the Glens Falls Recreation Department for the
cross country ski trail equipment and a notice from the Warren
County Youth Bureau regarding the approved amount of 1982 bussing
money for Queensbury (~687.l8).
SWIMMING LESSON PROGRAM
Under new business the Director relayed information from the
Queensbury School District regarding use of the indoor pool this
summer (see Director's report). Due to much needed repairs and
maintainence, the indoor pool will not be available for Recreation
Department programs this coming summer. Gurney Lane, due to its
shape and size, can and will be used as much as possible for some
lessons, however, the majority of children's advanced lessons, adult
lessons, diving lessons and other swimming related programs cannot
be programmed at this facility. The Commission suggested that the
Director contact other facilities in the area to determine possible
usage. The YMCA, Glen Lake, Paradise Lake, the Glens Falls School
pool and Camp Jadamada were all suggested and will be investigated.

Additionally, the Commission recommended that Queensbury residents
be given the first opportunity to register for whatever lessons are
available and the Director assured them this would occur. A decision
regarding the program was postponed until further information is
obtained.
LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL
The Director explained information concerning a meeting with
the Town Supervisor and Queensbury Little League representatives.
Once again, Queensbury Little League is requesting Town assistance
to maintain and up-grade their facilities. As the Town's repre-
sentative the Director will meet with Little League representatives
at the ball fields in April to assess the quality of work necessary
and report back to the Town Board. At that time, a determination
will be made regarding what assistance, if any, the Town can pro-
vide.
DIRECTOR'S REPORT
The Director's report and monthly budget update was reviewed
and there were comments regarding the Department's expenditures
for the first 2 months of 1982.
The Director requested an executive session to discuss the
Master Plan. Returning to open session and there being no further
business, the meeting was adjourned at 9:24 p.m. The next meeting
will be held on Monday, April 26, 1982.
