CORRESPONDENCE/COMMUNICATIONS
The Director explained the correspondence received from Mayor
Bartholomew in regard to the Departments' request to use City property
in the West Glens Falls area for a summer playground. A meeting
between Mayor Bartholomew, Mike Brandt, and the Director has been
tentatively set, and hopefully all details can be worked out.
Regarding the BOCES request to use the Gurney Lane facility on
June 14, 1979, the Commission and thêDirector agreed that this type
of use is worthwhile and should be continued wher~ possible. In as
much as the Town would still be responsible if an accident occurred,
the Director will have staff members present in a supervisory capacity.
SUMMER PROGRAM BROCHURE UPDATE
The Director advised the Commission concerning the status of the
Summer Program Brochure. Lindstrand Printing su~mitted the low bid,
and has been working, (typesetting), for the past two weeks. The
completed brochure is expected around June 1, 1979, and will be
distributed through the School System and at other pUblic outlets.
BAY-RIDGE SUMMER LOCATION
The Director advised the Commission that a s'uitable playground/
softball site in the Bay-Ridge area has not yet been found. Commissioners
Howe and Champagne suggested that the Director inspect the area with
them in order to find a suitable site. Commissioner Champagne and the
Director, following the meeting, will try to locate a suitable site, as
Commissioner Champagne, who is familiar with the area, has a number of
possible locations in mind.
