The test was performed to the west of the existing residence in the location where construction of a replacement leach field is proposed. The results of the testing are as follows: Percolation Test Stabilization percolation rate - 1 in 3 minute, 16 seconds The test was run in the native sand and gravel at a depth of 24 inches in a 30 inch deep hole. The hole was presoaked with 6 gallons of water and the test was run 4 times until it stabilized with three consecutive runs of 3:11, 3:14 and 3:16 respectively. Since this house is approximately 25 to 30 years old, the owner has agreed to replace the plumbing fixtures with water-saving fixtures meeting the current New York State, Plumbing Code. Therefore, the replacement absorption -bed for this 3 bedroom residence requires installation of a minimum of 138 lineal feet of absorption trench which can be either stone and pipe, or infiltrator chambers. I have already changed one toilet last winter (1.6 gpf if I recall) and will update the other, including new showerheads or restrictors. More than likely this work will be done by myself and it will be, completed by the end ofthe -gear 12/31/03. If there are particular requirements in the town code or a more specific deadline, please let me know and I'll restate my compliance.
