Leamy • 4100 Rockwell Road Marcellus,New York 13108 • 315 673-2087 Architect April 10, 2001 To: Mr. Bill White 63 Masters Commons North Quensbury,NY 12804 Dear Bill: Based upon our conversation yesterday and the General Inspection Report from the Town of Queensbury Building and Code Enforcement,permit number 2001-047, it is my understanding that there was a substitution made in the foundation system. A poured concrete system was used instead of the 10" CMU system as specified on the plans. I understand from the report that the walls are 8" wide and the footing is 24"wide and 8" thick with#4 reinforcing bars in both the footing and the walls. This is an acceptable substitute. The foundation drainage and water proofing specification should be carefully followed. I also recommend not fully backfilling the foundation for the duration of the project until completed. The change in the framing under the bay area from a poured foundation to a cantilevered framed condition is also acceptable. I understand that the 2x10 floor joists were doubled under the area and carried back to the main built up'support beam at the center of the crawl space. The joist hangers can be inverted for all of the doubled floor joists. It is important to weather proof under the bay area arid around the joists. I also understand that the loft area was raised two feet with x 6 wood framing knee walls that are additionally supported by 2 ,1-3/4" x 11 7/8" LVL beams that rest on the main LVL support beam on one end and the exterior wall on the other.
