Thank you for inviting me to conduct a site visit, or pre-occupancy inspection, at your
property located at 704 Upper Glen. Darren was very helpful providing me with a guided
tour. The following are the items, which need your immediate attention prior to building
occupancy.
1.All emergency lighting needs testing to verify that the batteries and the bulbs are
operating properly.
2. Replace the fire sprinkler escutcheon plates as needed to ensure that the sprinkler
heads operate properly if needed.
3. All exits lights must be lit at all times.
4. All battery backup exit lights must also operate without electrical power.
Malfunctioning lights may need bulbs, batteries, or both.
5. Any exit light replaced must be replaced with a battery backup fixture.
6. Properly close all exposed electrical wiring.
7. Test all fire extinguishers.
8. Fire extinguishers are needed on the second and third floors. The minimum size for
these extinguishers is 2A10BC.
9. All fire extinguishers must be hung, no higher than waist level.

10. The fire sprinkler system needs immediate testing and every 6 months thereafter.
11. If ceiling panels are replaced in the "high bay," please ensure that the new panels
are "melt away" to expose the fire sprinklers above the ceiling.
12. All extension chords must be removed.... it may be advisable to hard wire a heater
in the sprinkler room.
13. The Mahoney Notifyer alarm panel is showing several sprinkler alarms, please
coordinate between the sprinkler contractor and Mahoney to determine the cause.
14. A member of the Fire Marshal's Office must witness the sprinkler flow/ evacuation
alarm test.
15. The rear exit door (facing Bank Street) must have a thumb operated lock cylinder on
the inside. .
16. Please remove all combustibles found around the outside of the building.
17. Please instruct your tenant that the third floor can only be used for storage and can
not be occupied by personnel.
18. Please have your tenant contact Craig Brown in reference to sign permits and
zoning review.
19. Please have your tenant contact me in order to complete an Occupancy Permit
Application, and a floor plan.
20. Any interior alterations may require a building permit.

occupancy. Our walk through will make the transition much easier for your tenant. If you
have any questions, or if I can provide any other assistance, please feel free to call me
