Dear David:
The following items need to be addressed on the plans for Harry&David, to be constructed at
the Lake George Plaza.
1. The separation walls and ceiling of the space must be one hour rated. Therefore 5/8th's
gypsutmneeds to be applied to the ceiling,if it doesn't already.exist; and the:walls must have
at least one layer of.5/8th's inch Type X Sheetrock on both sides. .
2. The separation wall between the stockroom and the mercantile area must be one hour rated.
It must be studs with 5/8th's Type X Gyp Board each side from the floor to the bottom of
the trusses and attached directly to the 5/8th's on the bottom of the trusses.
3. The.door going between the stockroom and the mercantile area must be a 3A hour fire rated
door..
4. There are no exit lights or emergency lights shown on the plan. They need to be added to
provide adequate exiting for the patrons of the store. An exit sign will be required in the
stockroom over the stockroom door on the stockroom side and over the-.main entrance
door..Emergency lights should be provided in the store and stockroom area.
Once these items have been addressed on a set of plans, we can then issue the building permit.

RE: Harry and David, Lake George Plaza, Lake George, NY
In accord with your review of the contract drawings for the captioned project, we have made the
following revisions:
1. We have specified that the General Contractor is to patch/repair/supplement the existing 5/8"
gypsum board on the demising walls, as required, to create a 1-hour rated separation between
our space and neighboring spaces. The General Contractor is to supply and install a layer of
new 5/8" type 'X' gypsum board on the bottom of the existing joists running across the space.
This will create a 1-hour rated envelope, separating the new Harry and David store from all
neighboring spaces.
2. The new wall separating the sales and stock areas has been revised. The wall is now to be
constructed from the floor to the 5/8" gypsum board that is to be installed on the underside of
the joists. This will create a 1-hour separation between the sales and stock areas. In addition,
the wall between the restroom and the mechanical room is to be continuous to the underside
of the gypsum board to ensure the 1-hour barrier between the sales and stock area is intact
and complete.
3. The door in the sales/stock wall (door#4) is now noted to be a 3/4-hour rated door.
4. Exit lights have been added over the entry doors on the sales side and over the stock door to
show the correct means of egress. Emergency lighting in the stock room (a single fixture
with 2 heads) and in the sales area(2 fixtures, each with 2 heads) is now shown.
