The Fire Marshals Office conducted an inspection of the premises and found the following violations that exist at this time, on top of the fact that you are currently operating your business there with no Certificate of Occupancy. 1. Both stairways appear to be in disrepair and need to be brought up to Code as shown on your plans. 2. There are no fire extinguishers on site. 3. There's open wiring throughout the building. 4. There are holes in the stair treads. 5. There is temporary lighting provided upstairs with no exit lights or emergency lights provided. As you are also aware,a condition of your occupying the building and being issued a variance by the State of New York was the fact that a fire alarm system would be installed in the building. All the above items must be addressed immediately, and if necessary,. a temporary Certificate of Occupancy will be issued for your business until such time as the addition is complete. As it stands right now,you are currently occupying the building in violation of the Building Code,with several Building Code violations,as well as a violation of the variance that you were granted to occupy the building and conduct business from that building.
