RE: Taco Bell/Long John Silvers addition/renovation
Dear Chris:
The following items need to be addressed on the plans prior to issuance of a building permit for the Taco
Bell/Longjohn Silvers.
The dry storage area needs to be one hour rated with a three quarter hour fire door at the entrance to
this area,as required by Table 302.1.1,under Incidental Use's for Storage Areas.
2. A new detector needs to be added to the dry storage area.
)6 The new rooftop unit is required to have fan shutdown, so upon activation of the fire alarm system,this unit will shut down as the two current units do.
/4"o We need design loads shown for the;wind and snow load. The Wind load is 90 miles per hour. The
snow load is 70 lbs. ground snow load.
We need a note on the plans stating that all plumbing will be cast iron or copper.
�We need emergency lights shown on the plan,as they are currently not shown on the plan.
The handicap service counter, as well as the condiment area must be at a maximum height of 34
inches,as required by the ANSI 1998 standard.
xThe
energy code sheet needs to be updated to show the proper location as Warren County, New
York,and the slab needs to be shown as a heated slab and the R-Value increased to an R-10.
Once the above items have been addressed on the plans satisfactorily, this Department will issue a building
permit for construction.

This letter is written in reference to your review letter of the above mentioned project dated September 18,2002.
Below is a list of responses/comments l to the numbered items in your letter:
1. The proposed dry storage area has been revised to meet the I hr rating required. An additional Door
#4 has been added.
2. A combination heat/smoke detector has been added in the dry storage room. It will be wired to the
Fire alarm monitoring panel and HVAC fan shut-down.
3. The detail showing the shut-down has been modified to include the new AC-3 unit.
4. The design loads for the new addition have been added to the cover sheet as required.
5. A note has been added to the plumbing plans requiring the use of cast iron or copper piping..
6. Emergency lights have been added to the reflected ceiling plan and electrical lighting plan.
7. A note has been added to the plans requiring that the counter heights be 34"maximum.
8. Please see revised energy code sheets attached to this letter.

The:Ybin' Group Inc.is proposing to add the Long John Silvers brand to their existing Taco Bell at the
above r6ferenc6djocation. The Yum! Group Inc.owns and operates both national chains and is in the
process_Pflco-bi I,iiding many of their sites in the northeast. This renovation would entail the following:
1. ' Add a 11.5',-jx-24.25' addition to the rear of the building
2. Remove existing mansard roof and renovate the exterior facade
3. Remodel the interior
This project was recently approved by the Planning Board on 8/20/02. Please find attached a completed
building permit application and a set of plans for your review and approval. Also enclosed is a check for
the sum of$100.00(one hundred dollars)to cover the cost of the permit. We will have signed and sealed
