The analysis is to determine if the existing tower can safely support the addition of a twelve-antenna platform with associated cables at the 163-foot above grade elevation. Tower geometry and member specifications were obtained from original design drawings by ROHN Industries, Inc.Existing equipment loads such as cables, antennas and platforms were obtained from a previous analysis performed by Paul J.Ford and Company dated April 16,2001. Proposed equipment loads were provided by the equipment manufacturer. Foundation and sub-soil information was not provided or obtained at this time. No site visits by the Structural Engineer were performed to confirm the above information. The structural analysis was performed in accordance with the latest edition of TIAIEIA-222-F standards for minimum loads for wind and ice and based on the attached assumptions. For the worst- case loading condition (wind load with ice),the controlling members were the guy cables and mast legs stressed to 80 and 89 percent of their allowable capacity, respectively. Limited foundation analysis was performed, which indicated that the existing foundation should be capable of safely supporting the additional loads. In conclusion, we find that the existing tower will be capable of safely supporting the proposed equipment as described above.
