Septic tank should be inspected at least every two years by a qualified person and pumped out when determined necessary. The Engineer shall at no time bear any responsibility for system malfunction or failure due to improper maintenance. 3. The improvements are shown at suggested locations. Adjustments may be made in the field to reflect actual conditions. CONSTRUCTION NOTES: I . Heavy construction equipment shall not be allowed within the septic disposal area. 2. The septic tank shall be a 1,000 gallon, pre -cast concrete tank as manufactured by The Fort Miller Co. or equivalent. 3. The distribution box shall have a minimum of 5 outlets as manufactured by The Fort Miller Co. or equivalent. 4. Solid wall piping between the building and septic tank shall be PVC SCH 40 or PVC SDR-26 and laid at a minimum slope of 1/4 inch per foot. 5. Solid wall piping between the septic tank and the distribution box shall be PVC SCH 40 or PVC SDR-26 and shall be laid at a minimum slope of 1/8 inch per foot. 6. Place the aggregate and distribution lines in the excavated trenches. Cover the lines with 2 inches of aggregate. The aggregate shall consist of 3/4"- 1 1/2" washed gravel or crushed stone. The perforated distribution lines shall be PVC ASTM D 2729 for use in septic systems. 7. For testing, place clear water in distribution boxes, checking for uniform streams of water from each hole in the distribution boxes. Adjust distribution box outlets until all streams are even. 8. A permeable geotextile or untreated building paper shall be placed over the absorption area to prevent the infiltration of fines into the aggregate. 9. A minimum of six inches of fill shall be placed over the top of the absorption area, taking care not to drive over the distribution trenches.
