RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING USE OF OCCUPANCY FUNDS
TOWARD TOWN RECREATION PROJECTS

WHEREAS, by prior Resolution and Agreement the Queensbury Town Board provided in the
Town Budget for the Town's receipt of occupancy tax revenues from Warren County in accordance
with the Local Tourism Promotion and Convention Development Agreement(Agreement) entered into
between the Town and Warren County, and
WHEREAS, the Agreement provides that specific expenditure of the funds provided under the
Agreement are subject to further Resolution of the Queensbury Town Board, and
WHEREAS, the Town Board wishes to accordingly authorize provision of such funds, in the
amount of up to $40,000, to be used toward Town Recreation Department expenditures related to the
Department's special events and recreational attractions, such events offered not only to Town of
Queensbury residents, but also by the general public, who serve as an economic boon to the Town of
Queensbury and entire area, as follows:
Seasonal Brochures (Summer and Winter) - $20,000
• Program/Event Marketing&Promotions - $10,000
• Park/Athletic Facility Events - $10,000
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED, that the Queensbury Town Board hereby approves and authorizes the
expenditure of funds in the amount up to $40,000 to the Town's Recreation Department, such funds to
be from Warren County occupancy tax revenues received by the Town and to be paid for from
Account No.: 050-6410-4412-7020, and
BE IT FURTHER,
RESOLVED, that such expenditures are expressly contingent upon the Town Budget Officer
confirming that the Town has unallocated occupancy tax funds available from Warren County, and
BE IT FURTHER,
RESOLVED, that the Town Board further authorizes and directs the Town Supervisor, Town
Budget Officer and/or Town Parks and Recreation Director to take such other and further actions as
may be necessary to effectuate the terms of this Resolution.

Attached, please find our request for $40,000 in funding from the Occupancy Tax Fund. This
reflects an increase of $5,000. As costs to maintain facilities have increased dramatically in the
past two years, we ask for an increase of $5,000.

2023 OCCUPANCY TAX REQUEST — Parks & Recreation
The needs outlined below are all supported by the "Schedule A — Spending Guidelines".
❑ Seasonal Brochures (summer and winter): +$ 20,000.00
This would support the printing and mailing of two seasonal brochures to area
residents as well as providing program and facility information (Gurney lane MT6
Park, etc.) via many different tourist outlets. More and more our programs and
facilities are being used by seasonal guests.
❑ Program/Event Marketing & Promotions +$ 10,000.00
Promoting events, programs and promoting department brochures on a year-
round basis. May include advertising via print, radio and electronically.
❑ Jenkinsville Athletic Facility & Hovey Pond Gardens +$ 10,000X0
This would support yearly a portion of the costs associated with providing space
for softball, soccer and lacrosse tournaments and field maintenance costs at
Jenkinsville Park — 2021 costs: Field lining = $4,000 - Pesticide and Fertilizer
program from licensed applicator = $6,000. Hovey Pond public gardens
maintenance, irrigation, etc. — 2021 costs = $5,000 +
TOTAL OCCUPANCY TAX NEEDS — 2023: $40,000.00
