The following outliners my Jnspectioa L Apparently the poured concrete foundation was constructed out of' square in the front right corner by about 2-tiz"_ 2 , The 2x6 exterior wall that was constructed over the subject foundation wall was straightened so that the walls would be square. TWs resulted in the outside edge of the floor "boat" hanging over the edge of the foundation by the same 2_;1 2". 63 . To compensate for the gap left between the concrete wall and the floor box the framer cut a 2:+ 4 to till the gap and nailed it to the underside of the floor box. The concept of having a door box overhang the concrete foundations wall is an acceptable one. Tudeed this wall is on the gable end and has little weight on it. It is likely that the subject wall would have no structural problem without any modification, however, taking a belt and suspenders approach, we would recommend that additional floor joists be placed alongside the ex^tenor band joist to ensure that there is some support by the foundation wall- At the front of the wall two joists need to he glued and nailed to the band joist. At the halfway point of the span, it can be reduced to one joist.
