Bell Atlantic has surveyed our facilities in the area , and it is oar opinion that a fire of any magnitude mould damage our faciliw:ien . Our cables on 1,342 between Pole "D" and Pole "E" , feed the surrounding neicrhborh000d, as well as Aviation Mall . This is Plastic coated anc plastic insulated cable . One building is directly below our cable , and an.- ther bu.ildir_g is within 30 feet . Demolition Permit 731 Upper Glen Street, Queensbury Dear Mr. Charlebois: After reviewing the site at 731 Upper Glen Street for a possible free bum done by the Queensbury Central Fire Company, there are several considerations that need to be addressed. Both electric and gas facilities to the above premise have been disconnected. With regard to the electric facilities located adjacent to the building, be advised that the smaller building is in a position where, if burned, would certainly cause damage to Niagara Mohawk facilities. 1 spoke today with Queensbury Central Fire Chief, Richard Jones, to ascertain the type of control burning that would take place. He informed me that, aside from maybe one or two single room fires, the intent was to allow the building to go into a full free burn situation until it was demolished. It is this situation that causes us concern with regard to our electric facilities. If a burning permit is issued by the Town of Queensbury/Fire Chief, Niagara Mohawk requests that a standby electric crew be on site during the drill. The charges for their time would be borne by you at the rate of $ 125.00 per hour. During my site visit, 1 also noticed that Bell Atlantic has a multi pair phone cable that has a -plastic cover that would almost certainly be subject to damage in the event of a free burn. I would recommend that you contact Ms. Barbara Brayton at Bell Atlantic for her approval. Please contact me once you have made a decision as to whether or not a fire drill will take place so that I may schedule a line crew for the proper times. Please call me so that we may further discuss this situation. Cordially, Richard F. Noonan Consumer Advisor Mr. Claude C. Chatrlebois 2.
