Dear Sir,
During the construction of the above referenced project, The owner has altered from the
Northfield Design construction drawings in the two areas that follow:
1 . The detail for attachment of the wood truss to the angle support has been altered to
include a gusset plate at each truss with a bolted attachment. This is in lieu of the
wood blocking and nailed attachment shown on our drawings. I feel that this revised
connection detail is satisfactory.
2. The detail of attaching the pressure treated top plate to the concrete bond beam at
the top of the block wall has been altered. In lieu of bolting the plates to the t(rof the
wall , the Owner has power shot the plate to the concrete at a closer increment
(12-18 inches on center). Although I prefer to bolt this connection, the method
utilized on the project in conjunction with the number of connectors utilized will meet
the design criteria for this connection.
I trust this letter will satisfy your needs to close out the project for a Certificate of
Occupancy. Please do not hesitate to contact my office if I can be of any further

Dear Jim,
This letter will confirm our conversation regarding the expansion of Skateland
and projects included in that expansion.
The items specifically we are dealing with is exterior fire separations between
buildings. As we discussed, the go kart repair building will need to provide a
minimum Two Hour masonry wall abutting the existing masonry wall from the
footings to the roof deck where the two buildings adjoin each other. The wall that is
opposite the expansion for the cafeteria will need to be at least a Three Quarter
Hour rating with a noncombustible exterior finish_
The go kart storage building will need to provide a Three Quarter Hour exterior
wall with noncombustible facing on any side that faces the existing Skateland
building. We also talked about perhaps moving the building so that only one side of
the go-kart storage building would need to be rated.
It was also confirmed that the expansions to the building will not exceed the
allowed fire area for this building, and that the seating capacity for the cafeteria
will not be expanded, and will be maintained less than lop persons occupancy-
