001LOCKABLE EXTENDERS TO 6-in GRAVEL BASE EXTEND 12-in BEYOND ALL SIDES Septic Tank Notes: 1. The capacity of the septic tank shall be a minimum of 1250-gallons, and 34-sgft of surface area. a. Tank can be concrete or plastic - NOTE if plastic tank is used it shall be filled with water to prevent it from breaching. 2. The septic tank covers shall always be accessible. Where manholes are more than 12-inches below grade and extension collar shall be provided over each opening. Extension collars shall not be brought up flush with the ground unless the cover can be locked. 3. The construction of driveways, swimming pools, or other facilities are not allowed above septic tanks. 4. The following applies to all septic tanks: a. The minimum liquid depth shall be 30-inches. The maximumaallowable design depth shall be 60- inches b. The minimum distance between the inlet and the outlet shall be 6-feet c. Tanks shall be watertight. If the tank is a 2-piece design it must be leak tested in the presence of the local Building Inspector and/or the design engineer prior to backfilling d. The tank shall have an inlet and outlet baffle, sanitary tees or other devicesd to prevent the passage of floating solids and to minimize disturbance of settled sludge and floating scum e. There shall be a minimum of 1-inch clearance between the underside of the top of the tank and all baffles f. Tanks shall be placed on at least 6-inches of sand or pea gravel g. There shall be a minimum of 2-inches in elevation between the inlet and the outlet - with the outlet being lower. 5. Concrete tanks shall have a minimum concrete strength of 3000-psi at 28-days. 6.
