Dear Micky & Jamie:
During a review of the proposed floor plan received for the Mangy Moose, it was
noticed that the amount of space where people can stand and congregate would
exceed the maximum number that you had originally requested of 45 seats, and a
maximum occupant load of 49 people.
By posting the building at a 49 person occupant load, you limit yourself to the
amount of people that you can currently have in this restaurant. It would be our
strong suggestion that now would be a good time to install a fire and smoke
detection system which would allow you additional gathering space for people
standing and allow an overall occupant load limited only by the available floor space
and exiting provisions.
We would ask that you seriously consider installing a system so that if this
Department receives a complaint in the future, it would be in compliance with the
building code and not in violation, should your occupant load exceed 49 people.
• This letter is advisory only. If you wish to post the occupant load at 49, we
cannot require that the system be installed. However, if we receive a complaint, we
could require that the system be installed after acting on that complaint.
