237.2023 Autorizing Purchase of Flyght Sludge Pump or Town Water Dept and Declaring GA Fleet as a Sole Source Provider RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PURCHASE OF FLYGHT SLUDGE PUMP FOR TOWN WATER DEPARTMENT AND DECLARING GA FLEET AS A SOLE SOURCE PROVIDER RESOLUTION NO.: 237, 2023 INTRODUCED BY: Mr. George Ferone WHO MOVED ITS ADOPTION SECONDED BY: Mr. Harrison Freer WHEREAS, the Town of Queensbury's Water Superintendent has advised that it is necessary to purchase a Flyght Sludge Pump for the Town's Water Treatment Plant, and WHEREAS, GA Fleet supplied the Flyght Sludge Pump which was part of the original Town Water Treatment Plant Upgrade in 1996, and WHEREAS, the Water Superintendent has advised that he attempted to find pumps with solid handling capabilities from other suppliers that were supposed to be equal to the Flyght's Sludge Pump curve; however, such brand submersible solid handling pumps have failed to pump the Water Department's aluminum sludge as effectively as the original Flyght Pump, and WHEREAS, GA Fleet can provide such Flyght pump for the amount of$24,239 as set forth in GA Fleet's Quote dated June 7 h, 2023 as presented at this meeting, and WHEREAS, the Water Superintendent has therefore requested that the Town Board declare GA Fleet as a sole source provider and authorize the purchase of the needed Flyght Sludge Pump for the Water Department from GA Fleet, and WHEREAS, for the above reasons, the Town Board wishes to waive the Town Purchasing Policy's self-imposed bidding requirement in this instance and declare GA Fleet as a sole source provider to help ensure that the Town's Water Treatment Plant will continue to operate in a safe and efficient manner, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that for the reasons outlined above, in these circumstances the Queensbury Town Board hereby waives its self-imposed bidding requirement under the Town of Queensbury's Purchasing Policy and declares GA Fleet as a sole source provider for this Flyght Sludge Pump purchase to help ensure that the Town's Water Treatment Plant will continue to operate in a safe and efficient manner, and BE IT FURTHER, RESOLVED, that the Queensbury Town Board hereby approves and authorizes the purchase of the Flyght Sludge Pump from GA Fleet for an amount not to exceed $24,239 as delineated in GA Fleet's quote dated June 7 h, 2023 substantially in the form presented at this meeting to be paid from Account No.: 040-8320-4350, and BE IT FURTHER, RESOLVED, that the Town Board further authorizes and directs the Town Supervisor to sign any needed documentation, and the Town Supervisor, Town Water Superintendent and/or Budget Officer to take such other and further action as may be necessary to effectuate the terms of this Resolution.
