WaZter Noes : None Absent: None 41 i Councilman Morrell- There should be some comments made on the qualifications of these to appointments, we are bringing in a "tremendous amount of expertise, I believe this is the first time we will be bring- inq in some feminine input on the Recreation Commission with Betty Little. Mrs . Little L ' has an extensive background and Mr. Granger was a member a long time ago and he has tremendous recreational experience if you watch P. M. Magazine. With the addition of these two people I think you will have a very valuable Recreation Commission which will work very well to pursue our program in the Town. Councilman Olson- Thanked the other people who did apply for the positions. . . i RESOLUTION TO CREATE PETTY CASH FUND FOR HIGHWAY DEPT. i Introduced by Mr. Olson, seconded by Dr. Eisenhart: WHEREAS, the Queensbury Highway Superintendent has made a request to the Board for a petty cash fund, NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Supervisor is hereby authorized and directed to provide the , Queensbury Highway Department with a petty cash fund of $100. 00 and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that said Highway Department shall account for said funds as provided for in Town Law Section 64 (A) . Paul Naylor requesting that Mr. Frank Arnold be appointed to the position of Highway Department Operations Manager for the year 1982. RESOLUTION OF REAPPOINTMENT ! SOLUTION NO. 35, Introduced by Dr. Eisenhart, seconded by Mr. Morrell: RESOLVED, that Mr. Frank Arnold be and hereby is reappointed to the position of Highway Department Operations Manager for the Town of Queensbury upon the recommendation of Highway Supt. Paul Naylor for the year 1982. 4 Duly adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Mr. Olson, Dr. Eisenhart, Mr. Morrell, Mrs. Monahan, Mrs. Walter Noes: None i Absent: None Superintendent Paul Naylor- announced that the public can now pick up sand behind the Highway Dept. for use this winter. . . Councilman MorreZZ-announced that the Recreation Dept. has cleared a portion of Hovey Pond for the Town Residents to use for ice skating, this makes two locations for Town Residents to use, the other being by the Queensbury School , I 42 Supervisor Walter- announced that a Public Information meeting will be held on January 26th 1982 at 7: 30 P. M. regarding the possible formation of a BroadAcres Water District. . . " OPEN FORUM 7: 53 P. M. j Mr. Fisher- asked if the Highway Dept. could do something about CZeverdale Road, described as a double washboard. . . Mr. Naylor- noted that the Highway Dept. had been trying to clear up the problem.,but with the cold weathers they will have to wait until it warms up to clear up the ice. . . and remove the pockets. of ice. . . Mr. Turnbull-asked if there was any further information in regard to the environmental impact study for the sewer system? Supervisor WaZter-The minutes that I received was that the environmental impact statement is due in March which would be on schedule. . . Mr. Turnbull- we will not have to go for another referendum? Supervisor Walter- The District is created, it was done an a referendum basis, the people voted for it. . . Mr. Turnbull- Are you telling me that the sewer can be brought in at Sixty Million Dollars? Supervisor Walter- I would not tell you that, because I do not believe that, I would tell you that the sewer is dead as far as Warren County is concerned. j Mr. Turnbull- How long will it take us to pay off the indebtedness i to the County, the money spent for engineering and design? { Supervisor Walter- One more year. . . Councilman Morrell- noted he attended the Q,ueensbury Senior Citizens Christmas Party, impressed with the number of people that attended and the excellent meal that was served. . . r I Mr. Turnbull- thanked Mr. Morrell for his comments . . . i Councilman Olson- thanked Mr. Turnbull for his excelZent .gob in establishing the Senior Citizens Organization. . . RESOLUTION TO APPROVE AUDIT OF BILLS RESOLUTION NO. 36 by Dr. Eisenhart, seconded by Mr. Morrell: RESOLVED, that Audit of Bills as listed on Abstract No. 82-1B and numbered 11 through 92 and totaling $144, 974. 91 be and hereby is approved. i j DuZy adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Mr. Olson, Dr. Eisenhart, Mr. MorreZZ, Mrs .
