PROPERLY MAINTAINED CAN EXTEND THE USEFUL LIFE OF THE DISPOSAL FIELD. ALL
SYSTEMS ARE SUSCEPTIBLE TO CLOGGING BY SOLIDS CARRY-OVER, LEADING TO
PREMATURE FAILURE. IF INSTALLED, A GRADE ACCESS COVER SHALL BE PROVIDED
FOR PERIODIC INSPECTION & CLEANING OF THE EFFLUENT FILTER DEVICE.

Re: Sewage Disposal System - Engineer’s Certification

Tax Map #239.8-1-2
Mr. O’Brien
The construction of a replacement sewage disposal system for the residence at the above referenced
location Tax #239.8-1-2 has been completed. The installation was completed by IBS Septic on August
11, 2023 with final grading taking place on 8.12.23
As the engineer of record, I certify to the Town of Queensbury as follows:
1. I am in fact the designer of the system.
2. I am personally familiar with the actual site conditions and in consideration of those conditions the system
was designed in compliance with the Town of Queensbury standards requiring four (4’) feet of separation
between the bottom of the Eljen disposal system and any impervious layer encountered as part of the more
stringent regulations set forth in the Town code that would supersede portions of the Part 75A of the New
York State Department of Health Sanitary Code.
3. Wales Engineering staff, under my direct supervision, inspected the system at the time of construction and
I have personal knowledge that it was constructed in compliance with the design. The new Eljen system’s
closest point to the shoreline is 180’, the new poly septic tank is 75’ from the shoreline and is 3’ from the
edge of the building. The installer sought relief/verification from the 10’ min setback that is required from
buildings, since this building is on piers with no basement or crawl space, the determination of 3’ was
accepted due to the high bedrock level around the house. The poly pump tank was installed in series and
the Alarm system is installed on the outside rear portion of the residence.
4. Wales Engineering prepared an as-built plan (see attached) depicting the septic system as it was
constructed, including measurements from: septic tank to house, building to leach field and leach field
dimensions and measurements from the lake to the septic tank and distribution box.. Inspection performed
on August 11, 2023.
If you have any questions or require additional information, please contact me at your convenience.
Sincerely,
Timothy W. Wales
