GENERAL DESCRIPTION The RIVER RAPIDS RIDE is based on a thrilling natural transportation system : rafts carrying freight on rivers . The ride structure consists of a winding trough through which water runs . The water is pumped up to the starting elevation with large pumps . After loading , the boats are brought to the highest point by a conveyor belt at the loading station . The difference in elevation is approximately six feet . In the ride channelo boats are moved only by the current of the water . To avoid a boat jam & guide planks or drums are installed at critical points of the channel . The round 4 -passenger boats are made of fiberglass and are equipped with bumper protection on the circumference . The channel is built of concreter and special ride effects are achieved by its unique outline . Barricades and obstacles in the waterway create an interesting and varied ride experience . A wave machine in the channel influences the boat movements . Show water pumps and a waterfall increase the optical XW XW XO excitement of the ride . The boats circle from the left to the right bankop turn backwards , forwards . sideways . and rock up and down .
