I am enclosing an application form for a Temporary Sign Permit to allow the Festival to erect its cold-air balloon on the flat roof of the Auditorium section of the Queensbury High School. We have the permission of the school for the placement of the balloon, as you will see from the enclosed letter from Jack Irion. I hope we have supplied sufficient information for you to go ahead and process the application. I would like to add here that we have researched these balloons very thoroughly. They are safe, light and easy to manage. They are manufactured by this company for use all over the country, and we anticipate no problems at all. The balloon is so easily deflated that even in very bad weather, we could safely take it down within several minutes. As you know, our opening night is this coming Friday, the 18th. May I respectfully ask if you could process our application in time for our opening night. Please be in touch with me if you need more information, or if there is any clarification necessary of what I have given you. COLD-AIR BALLOON DIMENSIONS. Height: 30 ft. Diameter: 15ft. Diameter of Base: 5ft. Weight: 85 lbs. Balloon is made of rip-stop flame proof nylon, kept inflated by continuous cold air driven by a 1 hp. 110 volt electric fan. All electric parts are Underwriters ' Laboratory Approved. Balloon is securely moored with 12 separate ropes; 4 from top center, 4 from "equator" quarters and 4 from base.
