1.2 1.2 WASTEWATER-SEWER\Set PFFBenson-Absorption Field to Lane and Structure-1-8-2024 RESOLUTION SETTING PUBLIC HEARING ON SEWAGE DISPOSAL VARIANCE APPLICATION OF SUN-AE BENSON RESOLUTION NO.: 92024 INTRODUCED BY: WHO MOVED ITS ADOPTION SECONDED BY: WHEREAS, the Queensbury Town Board serves as the Town's Local Board of Health and is authorized by Town Code Chapter 136 to issue variances from the Town's On-Site Sewage Disposal Ordinance, and WHEREAS, Sun-ae Benson has applied to the Local Board of Health for variances from Chapter 136 to install a replacement wastewater system with its absorption field fill to be located within: 1. 8' of the east property line in lieu of the required 10' setback; and 2. 6' of the structure in lieu of the required 20' setback; on property located at 371 Glen Lake Road in the Town of Queensbury, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town of Queensbury Local Board of Health will hold a public hearing on Monday, January 22nd, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. at the Queensbury Activities Center, 742 Bay Road, Queensbury, to consider Sun-ae Benson's sewage disposal variance application concerning property located at 371 Glen Lake Road in the Town of Queensbury (Tax Map No.: 289.10-1-1) and at that time all interested persons will be heard, and BE IT FURTHER, RESOLVED, that the Local Board of Health authorizes and directs the Queensbury Town Clerk to publish the Notice of Public Hearing presented at this meeting and send a copy of the Notice to neighbors located within 500 feet of the property as required by law. Presently the 1 -bedroom cottage is served by a 1 ,000-gallon concrete septic tank and a 4 ft x 4 ft drywell. During the property transfer inspection , it was discovered that the existing drywell is within the 150 ft setback of a neighboring well. Given the terrain and site constraints, it is not passible to install a compliant wastewater system. We are proposing to install a new 10 ft wide by 25 ft long stone absorption bed in the southeast corner of the property. Relief is requested for the installation absorption field fill within 8 ft of the east property line where 10 ft is required and within 6 ft of the structure where 20 ft is required . The existing cottage is built on piers with a shallow crawl space. Enclosed please find ten submission packages for this project.
