Project Narrative – Boat\RV storage Building – Jay & Kim Ogden
17 Fitzgerald Road – Glen Lake
At the above referenced project location, the Owners, Jay & Kim Ogden have completed the
renovations to the main house which included a two car garage with additional bedroom living space
above the garage, new entry foyer and interior renovations to the main residence. This project was
finalized in the late summer of 2023.
The Ogden’s own a self-contained RV and two boats as well as a side-by-side PRV and several other
equipment trailers. These pieces of accessory equipment are currently stored outside in the lawn
area between Fitzgerald Road and the main residence. Pictures of the noted equipment as viewed
from Fitzgerald Road and from within the property are included in this narrative along with pictures of
the recently completed residential addition.
It is the Owner’s desire to store this equipment inside a structure rather than to have everything sitting
outside or under temporary shelters, which can be seen in the attached pictures as well.
To that end we have designed a low slope, shed roof building that would have 14’ overhead doors to
allow for the RV and Boats to be parked inside the garage as well as the side-by-side and the utility
trailers. The items that are currently stored inside the temporary shelters would also be moved inside
the proposed building on the main floor and in the storage loft. There will not be any plumbing in the
proposed building and the proposed building will not contain any habitable living space, it will be
strictly for the storage of the equipment that is currently stored on the site.
The exterior finishes will be the same as the main residence so that the proposed building will be in
keeping with the overall aesthetic of the property. The low side of the roof slope would be 16’ above
grade and the upper edge of the roof eave at the driveway would be 18’-10” above grade to allow for
the overhead doors. The doors will not face Fitzgerald Road and access will only be from the existing
driveway. The current landscaping would remain and be enhanced as necessary via foundation
plantings once the building is complete.
