Presently the 1-bedroom cottage is served by a 1,000-gallon concrete septic tank and a 4 ft x 4 ft drywell. During the property transfer inspection, it was discovered that the existing drywell is within the 150 ft setback of a neighboring well. Given the terrain and site constraints, it is not possible to install a compliant wastewater system. We are proposing to install a new 10 ft wide by 25 ft long stone absorption bed in the southeast corner of the property. Relief is requested for the installation absorption field fill within 8.ft of the east property line where 10 ft is required and within 6 ft of the structure where 20 ft is required. The existing cottage is built on piers with a shallow crawl space. Enclosed please find ten submission packages for this project.
