The Town of Queensbury Code Enforcement Office took exception to parts of my original design and I have, hopefully, corrected it to meet both their satisfaction and yours . Most of the seepage pits have been installed and the "D" box and a one-piece pump tank have been ordered from the Fort Miller Co . The contractor has been ordered to stop work until acceptable plans have been approved by you and the town . Needless to say, a condition exists that should be cleaned up as soon as possible . Legault, • • • • I am enclosing one copy of my Dwg. #90-10 for your septic system revisions which has been approved by the New York State • . Department of Health. Also enclosed are 3 additional copies of this drawing since you and the Town of Queensbury will need • copies for their files and your contractor . You will have to submit an application to the Town for the construction permit . The piping on the first tank (grease tank) will have to be inspected and modified , if necessary, to make it .conform to the configuration shown in the grease trap detail on the drawing. • This tank should be checked each week for several weeks after it • is put into service to determine the best pump-out frequency. If the grease is allowed to carry over to the disposal system, • it could put the whole system out of business . If you anticipate enlarging the parking: lot in the future, you may want • to consider drive-over covers for the 2 or 3 seepage pits , adjacent to the parking area. The seepage pits have a considerable amount of stone or cobbles under and around - them . but this should give the greatest sidewall area at the least cost . Adequate maintenance of this system will depend on the tanks, pump station , and seepage pits being easy to inspect and clean out---access covers marked and close to the surface.
