A. All applications for septic system installation, alteration or repair,
as required by chi Town of, Queensbury Sanitary Sewage Ordinance, shall
be submitted to the Building Department at least 24 hours before start
of construction and shall include a plot plan showing:
1.) the proposed location of the system
2.) location and distance to lot lines
3.) location and distance co structures
4.) location and distance to any water supply
5.) size and dimensions of all tanks, distribution boxes,
eild fields and/or drywalls
B. Nu system shall be covered before inspection and approval by the
Building Inspector. Failure to comply with this requirement may
result in the uncovering of the system by the installer and a fine
of up to $250.00.
C. An approved copy of the plot plan shall be available on the construction
site. Failure co produce said plot plan at ciao of inspection may
result in an immediate work stoppage.

D. Should unforeseen problems during construction prevent proper installa—
tion, alteration or repair of an approved system, a new proposal must

Article III - Standards
Section 3.050 - HOLDING TANKS
•
A. In cases where a sewage disposal system is needed for temporary usage while
building or repairing permanent facilities or for seasonal operation, the
• use of a holding.tank will be considered, on-a Ga-se-by--c-a-se- basis. Holding
tanks however, will not be allowed for year round usage on a permanent
basis except for replacement of existing systems when no other alternative
will meet existing design standards.
B. The design and installation of a holding tank and alarm system shal t comply
with the following specifications.
1) The holding tank shall be a watertight precast concrete septic tank,
without outlets, with a watertight- sealant material for joints below
the maximum water level . -she tank shall also be equipped with a two-
phase alarm system. Refer to Figures 2 and 3 for the details and
specifications required.
2) The holding tank capacity must be equal to at least twice the volume
of waste generated between anticipated removal dates. The following
table gives the minimum size of holding •tank -required and is based
on 7 days between anticipated removal dates.
