Memo - HRV Units - 1 Aug 2024RUCINSKI HALL ARCHITECTURE Ronald Richard Rucinski Ethan Peter Hall 134 Dix Avenue Glens Falls NY 12801 Voice 518 741-0268 Fax 518 741-0274 Email ephalIO-rha-pc.com Memo To: John O'Brien — Town of Queensbury — Code Enforcement Office Mark Smith — Town of Queensbury — Code Enforcement Office From: Ethan Hall Date: 2 August, 2024 Re: Schermerhorn Construction — Newcomb Street Apartments — HRV Unit specifications John & Mark, Attached are the manufacturer's catalog cut -sheets for the HRV Units at the above referenced project location as well as a revised drawing A-2 (provided previously) showing the location of the HRV Units within the apartment. As discussed at your office yesterday the documentation shows that the units are acceptable for use as supplemental HRV units and based on discussion with the HVAC designer the required 60 cfm of outside air will be provided by these units. According to the manufacturer there is no such blanket statement which says that the units are compliant with the IECC requirements, nor does that statement exist for any HVAC equipment that we could find. According to the manufacturer as the designer of record for the project and the design professional who provided the energy code compliance certification it would be up to me to determine that the units provided meet the design intent of the energy code. Since it appears that the requirements for fresh air are met by this unit it is my determination that these units are compliant and they are acceptable to this office. If there are any additional questions please let me know.
