350.2024 Setting PH Proposed LL Prohibiting Parking Certain Portions of Property at Town Visitors Welcome Center RESOLUTION SETTING PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED LOCAL LAW PROHIBITING PARKING ON CERTAIN PORTION OF PROPERTY AT THE TOWN VISITORS WELCOME CENTER LOCATED AT THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF MAIN STREET AND MEDIA DRIVE RESOLUTION NO.: 350, 2024 INTRODUCED BY: Mr. Michael Dixon WHO MOVED ITS ADOPTION SECONDED BY: Mr.Anthony Metivier WHEREAS,the Queensbury Town Board wishes to consider adoption of a Local Law which would prohibit and/or limit parking and/or overnight parking of any vehicle on a portion of property at the Town's Visitors Welcome Center located at the northwest corner of Main Street and Media Drive specifically along the western side of the property beginning at the property's southernmost entrance heading in a generally northern direction to the property's northernmost entrance a distance of 240'± and accordingly authorize the installation of no parking, overnight parking, handicapped and/or electric vehicle signage in this specific area in order to prevent unauthorized motor vehicles as designated, and WHEREAS, such legislation is authorized in accordance with New York State Town Law, Vehicle and Traffic Law§1660(18) and the Municipal Home Rule Law, and WHEREAS, before the Town Board may act on such a Local Law, it must conduct a public hearing, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Queensbury Town Board shall meet and hold a public hearing at the Queensbury Activities Center,742 Bay Road, Queensbury at 7:00 p.m. on Monday,October 7t',2024 to consider the proposed Local Law presented at this meeting, hear all interested persons and take such action required or authorized by law, and BE IT FURTHER, RESOLVED, that the Town Board hereby authorizes and directs the Town Clerk to publish and post a Notice of Public Hearing in the manner provided by law.
